Meet Neva

Neva Parker is a dedicated public servant and community advocate who has spent her entire life in California, deeply committed to the well-being of its residents. Born and raised in Hercules, she pursued her education at the University of California, Davis, earning a BA in history. Her journey in public service began as an intern in the California State Capitol, where she quickly distinguished herself, transforming a 10-month internship into a 26-year career. As the Senate Journal Clerk, Neva ensured the legislative process was fair, transparent, and accessible, maintaining the Senate's official records with integrity and impartiality.
For over two decades, Neva and her husband Dennis have made Roseville their home; they have successfully operated several small businesses. Her commitment to her community extends beyond business; she actively participates in local governance as a member of the Roseville Grants Advisory Commission and the Placer County Older Adult Advisory Commission. Neva also dedicates her time to volunteering with organizations like Feeding the Foothills and the Assistance League of Greater Placer. In 2013, she furthered her leadership skills by earning an MA in Leadership from Saint Mary’s College of California.
Neva is running for Assembly District 5, which includes parts of Placer and El Dorado Counties, driven by a desire to address the real issues facing families and businesses. As a corporate-free candidate, she prioritizes the needs of her constituents over corporate interests, focusing on practical solutions and effective governance. Her extensive experience in the state legislature and deep-rooted connection to the community make her a strong advocate for the people of Assembly District 5.
